If you only have two places to try in Saõ Paulo, let it be these………
Constantly bustling, the Mercado Municipal is the place to visit for Brazils freshest produce. One of the most famous restaurants in the Mortadela Brasil. A classic deli, serving giant ham sandwiches & beer, this place is one of the best for Brazil’s infamous ham sandwiches. Although giant, they are surprisingly easy to eat and go amazing paired with their home made chilli sauce.
As one of the world’s 50 best restaurants, Chef Alex Atala lives up to this claim at a beautiful Michelin Star restaurant. With a tasting menu comprising of Brazilian & Amazonian ingredients, it was a great experience. With warm bread being served on free flow. Not something I’d complain about. One thing I would say, is that the Sommelier’s wine pairing was not something I’d agree with. But, small point if you know what wines you generally like.
