As we headed from Lima to Singapore, I couldn’t help but think about how lucky we were to be able to visit South America, Machu Picchu in particular. This trip lasted 3 weeks: we travelled from Singapore✈️Johannesburg✈️Lima✈️Cusco✈️Sacred Valley✈️ Machu Picchu✈️ Sao Paulo✈️ Rio✈️ & back to Singapore. Not our usual, lay on the beach and whale vacation, but we thought we’d do things a little differently around here. So we packed our duffle bags and relied on our good friends at Blue Sky Escapes for the vacation of a lifetime.
Lima is a beautiful town with around 9.8 million people. With beautiful weather and AMAZING food (which Ill cover in the next post). Its a great way to begin your Peruvian adventure.
I’d highly recommend staying at the Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel. It’s very conveniently located and beautifully decorated. Not to mention, they have about 600 resident turtles in their pond just across the hotel! Be sure to venture out into the Barranco – the hippie district, for great culture, museums and the famous Iglesia la Ermita Church. Stop by CALA bar for stunning sundowners.
