Arriving into Maldives is already a treat in and of itself. We took a flight from Singapore to Male and stayed at the airport hotel and took a domestic flight to the Laamu Atoll the following morning, where we were lucky enough to notice a heart shaped island – very apt for our first anniversary at the Maldives.
Upon landing, the Six Senses Resort had a speed boat waiting for us with a refreshing lemon drink to start our trip right. We were lucky enough to spot some playful dolphins on our way to the resort.
Heaven on Earth
The Six Senses Laamu is quite possibly the most beautiful place I have ever seen. With the friendliest staff and a barefoot policy where everyone walks around the island barefoot – be it to fancy dinners or just having a stroll on the beach. Something I am all for.
Upon checking in, you have what they call a GEM with you throughout your stay to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. Our GEM, Abdullah was very friendly and as excited as we were, which made it all the more special.
Ever had a massage in a giant birds nest? The Six Senses has the world’s best massages with the worlds best view.
Check back for part 2 where I take you through all the exciting things you can do while in Maldives. In the meantime, enjoy the video!
